Russell Geyser

Mr. Geyser’s early career began with the JH Snyder Company working on such notable projects as the Marina City Club, Wilshire Courtyard and Museum Square. Thereafter he left to form Wilton Partners with the late Jay Wilton and developed multiple retail projects around the country, notably in concert with Forest City Enterprises as outparcel developers to their major malls.

In 1993, Mr. Geyser entered a relationship with Excel Realty Trust in which he developed 19 shopping centers, specifically created a sub-vehicle to their NYSE REIT that allowed Excel to create good income from the development business in the REIT space.  Then partnering with Excel and its spinoff Excel Legacy, executed a consolidation of the car wash industry purchasing 90 car washes and taking the vehicle public with a full listing on Nasdaq in 1999.

In 2003, Mr. Geyser began the syndication of over $500 million of real estate in the 1031 market.  Thereafter he bought 9 hotels and completed the acquisition of nearly $1billion of real estate.

In 2010, he bought the land underneath the Borgata Hotel and Casino from MGM in a partnership with Vornado Realty Trust for $73 million and eventually sold that position back to Vornado.   In 2020, Geyser bought the 959 Seward project in Hollywood for $186M, partnering in the purchase with Goldman Sachs.

On the personal side, in 2014, Mr. Geyser, with help from Billie Jean King, purchased the NY Sportimes and moved them to San Diego renaming them the Aviators.
